About sixty early childhood develop-ment (ECD) teachers are receiving formal training from Loago Business Consultancy.
The programme is funded by Kelebogile Trust, entrusted to implement corporate social investment - a subsidiary of Kathu Solar Park or Liciastar - established to assist in the development of the community, while the solar project is under construct-ion.
The training programme to the practition-ers who never had a qualification in the af-fairs of early childhood development, will last about twelve months.
The sixty teachers will be divided into two groups and will be alternating in attending classes. One week one class will attend theoretical lessons while the other team will conduct their practical lessons at designa-ted ECD centres.
Loago Business Consultancy is the facili-tator in training the practitioners in the John Taolo Gaetsewe region to obtain NQF4 level qualifications.
The Kathu Solar Project acknowledges the role played by the Department of Social Development in the development of early childhood learning, hence it deemed it ne-cessary to partner with the department in the training of practitioners.
In the near future, unqualified practition-ers will not be allowed to practise or teach without the relevant training.
Training sessions are being conducted at Gaabo Motho guesthouse in Kuruman.
