Na afhandeling van Laerskool Kathu se Kleure-Atletiek het 103 van hulle leerders aan die Gamagara atletiek byeenkoms deelgeneem.

99 atlete van die Gamagara sirkel het aan die JTG atletiek byeenkoms deelgeneem – 63 van die 99 atlete is afkomstig vanaf Laerskool Kathu (64% van die span).

By die JTG atletiek byeenkoms word 76 atlete verkies om op 25 Februarie 2017 aan die Noord-Kaap atletiek kampioenskappe te gaan deelneem in Kimberley. 19 van die atlete is afkomstig vanaf Learskool Kathu. (25% van die span).

 

Laerskool Kathu wens geluk aan elke atleet, ouer en afrigter en verklaar dat hulle baie trots op die atlete is. Laerskool Kathu wens sterkte toe vir die wat na NK kampioenskappe toe gaan op Saterdag 4 Maart 2017. 

The annual district matric awards are sponsored by the JOHN TAOLO GAETSEWE district municipality. The awards are held at a school that obtained position 1. This year it was held at HOTAZEL COLLEGE.

 

 

TOP 3 SCHOOLS IN THE DISTRICT

Sammonia net soos haar ma, die nuut aangestelde departementshoof by Rietfontein Gekombineerde Skool het ook haar skoolloopbaan by die skool begin en daar gematrikuleer. Ma en dogter het ook deur ‘n paar van dieselfde hande gegaan by die skool. Tans is sy op Kathu Kollege om haar Wiskunde en Fisiese Wetenskappe te verbeter om in 2018 in te skryf vir Siviele Ingenieurswese by die universiteit van Vrystaat of Stellenbosch.

The Langberg High School community just wants to congratulate and thank Mihle Fono for making them so proud by obtaining four distinctions in Geography, Physical Sciences, Setswana Home Language and English First Additional Language. She was the only learner who obtained a distinction in Geography in the district of John Taolo Gaetsewe, because of her diligence. She studies in the direction she planned. She is disciplined and focused and will contribute to South Africa as a citizen.

 

Mihle Fono.

Die graad 7's van Laerskool Deben wat ‘n opvoedkundige toer onderneem het in die laaste kwartaal van 2016.  Hulle het verskeie opvoedkundige plekke besoek onder andere Tafelberg, die Parlement en vele meer. Dit was ‘n onvergeetlike week vir baie van die leerders.

Ogalaletsang Gaobuse, top matriculant from Hotazel Combined School achieved 7 distinctions in the NSC Exams 2016. She is studying B.Com (Financial Accounting) at the University of Stellenbosch this year. She received a laptop, R10 000 and a certificate at the Provincial Matric Awards in Kimberley. Her mother, ms L Gaobuse and principal, mr DWC Beukes accompanied her.

Her average was 85% with Accounting 90%, Life Sciences 88%, Physical Sciences 86%, Maths 83%, Setswana Home Language 83%, Life Orientation 82%, English First Additional Language 80%. What makes her achievement so much more special is the fact that she comes from Magobing, a rural village 15km outside Hotazel on the Kuruman road. She was also the top Star School student for 2016 and walked away with all accolades. We salute her and know that she'll achieve her highest goals...nothing is impossible for those who strife towards excellence! The Class of 2016 achieved 9 Bachelors, 4 Diploma and 6 Higher Certificate passes.

 

Ogalaletsang Gaobuse.

Hotazel College, formerly known as Hotazel Primary School, received an award for the Top Academic School in the district at the Northern Cape Department of Education Awards Ceremony in Kimberley on 5 January 2017.

Being only the second Gr. 12-class of Hotazel College, the school is extremely proud as the Gr. 12-class of 2016 obtained a 100% pass rate in the 2016 NSC examinations and nine of the twelve learners managed to obtain a Bachelor Pass.
